In agreement with the mission of the European Society of Biomechanics (ESB), consisting also in the promotion of the research excellence in biomechanics, the ESB Italian Chapter will assign the following awards to young researchers:

– ESB-ITA 2025 Best Oral Presentation in “Cardiovascular Biomechanics: New Frontiers” (Day 1)

– ESB-ITA 2025 Best Oral Presentation (Day 2)

– ESB-ITA 2025 Best Poster Presentation (Day 2)

Eligibility requirements: presenter at most 35 years of age (at the Congress date).

ERC in Italy award

The ERC in Italy association will sponsor 3 participations to a training on ERC proposal writing.

Eligibility requirements: doctoral degree obtained (at the Congress date).

Award for Master’s Thesis ESB-ITA 2025

Eligibility Requirements:
The master’s thesis must be defended between July 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025, at an Italian university.

Application Procedure:
The application must be submitted by the thesis supervisor via email (to info@esb-ita.it) by April 4, 2025, including:
– A reference letter (maximum 2 pages) containing:

• A brief summary of the thesis,
• The relevance of the thesis to the research fields of Biomechanics and/or Mechanobiology,
• A presentation of the candidate highlighting their specific contribution and final graduation grade.
• In the case of theses with multiple authors, the specific contribution and final grade of each candidate must be specified.
  – A PDF copy of the thesis.

Each supervisor may propose only one master’s thesis. Supervisors are encouraged to nominate students interested in pursuing a research career.

The Scientific Committee of the ESB-ITA 2025 Master’s Thesis Award will select up to three theses to be presented during a special session at the annual conference, during which the winner will be announced.

All candidates for the award will be eligible to register for the annual conference at the “early bird” rate, even after the regular deadline. The three candidates admitted to the special session must register for the conference to compete for the award.

The winner of the award will be announced during the ESB-ITA 2025 conference, and the prize will consist of free registration for the ESB-ITA 2026 conference
